Trying photography assignments, Landscapes:foregrounds
As i'm not taking any photography courses or anything I do a lot of reading on the internet, hoping to improve my photography skills. The site I visit the most is "Digital Photography School" they have many posts from various photographers, tips, info on camera equipment and much more. Also many forums such as How I took it, critique my shot, share your shots, before and after and my favorite weekly assignments. I love all the forums because you can discuss with others, share your photos and even get feedback. For me the weekly assignments are great inspiration because I go out and take photos while having a goal in mind. So instead of just taking photos of random things you're focused on a certain subject. No one really critiques in this forum but some give their opinions. However if you do want your photo to be critiqued I'd recommend the critique my shot section. This post is about the last week's assignment "Landscapes:Foregrounds". Most of photos people post are amazing and have interesting perspectives.
O2 beach club
I drove my bike around Choeng mon area and decided to stop at O2 beach club which belongs to Arayaburi resort. I've always seen signs for this place but never really checked it out. It's in a great location on a private bay sharing the beach with just a couple of resorts. In the back of the photo you can see six senses samui, they have no beach front but amazing views from the rooms and spa.

I was quite impressed with how good the service was for a 3 star property, all staff were very friendly and helpful. I ordered myself a chicken schnitzel sandwich. Me being me I chose to eat at the table in the huts down below, the closest table to the beach. I find it so relaxing being able to hear the gentle waves and overlooking the sea, such serenity until you hear the kids splashing and shouting at each other in the pool of course.

The schnitzel sandwich was amazing! with lots of mayo, nice and crispy and accompanied with freshly squeezed orange juice. They also replace the toothpick with lemon grass to add a Thai touch.
After a delightful and filling breakfast then it was time to take some photos and look for some foreground pictures with the beach landscape in the background. I tried using the grass and the rocks as the foreground but the angles were just not right and it didn't really stand out. Then I walked further down the beach and saw these wild petunias and thought this would be a great foreground.

Although I wasn't as extreme as these photographers but I understand how different shooting angles can really improve a photo.

The Chicken schnitzel sandwich looked so yummy!
