A found passion!

I've been searching and searching for something that I love doing and can't wait to do after work, that thing that makes you wake up early and eager to do,  that thing you want to learn more about, get better at, having a passionate feeling about doing that particular something. I see many people around me who know what they want to do or love what they are doing. Let it be sports, dancing, singing, art, you name it. I keep thinking that there's got to be something I like something I enjoy doing that actually lasts. I tried various hobbies but didn't settle on anything. I'd go to websites to find new ideas or find what interests me. I'd ask the people around me what they do or what they like and everyone had at least something! I started to think am I weird  I can't even find something that I like or enjoy doing. Until a month ago, I spontaneously bought my first DSLR camera. They are everywhere how could something so obvious cross my mind and I'm telling you I love it!

I really did try so many things though, writing, singing, acting classes, instruments  yoga, body painting, water painting, drawings, crafts, sports, DIY, designing clothes, interest in interior design, arranging events, graphic design. Nothing stuck, nothing interested me long enough to continue. They were just things that I thought i like or liked the idea of it, yet I was missing something. The fact is you can't just go searching online and then think "hey, this is what I want to do" even when you haven't physically tried it. Some things may sound better than actually doing but then you'll never know unless you try.

I've always enjoyed taking photos but never really knew how much you can actually do with a DSLR it's amazing. The more I know the more excited I get to try different things.  It's not just pointing and shooting, it's an art. An art that has technical features plus perspective. Not just taking the photo itself but the editing and processing afterwards, turning a good picture into a great one. I find myself either searching for inspirations of what to shoot with my camera or just going around the island in search of different subjects. Living in an island with beaches and interesting subjects all around makes me want to go out and explore places that people don't normally go to, just to find more interesting things and less of what a typical tourist would do. Traveling around is a wonderful thing and when you have a camera that you can control you start to see things differently, always seeing things and thinking "Oh, how can I take a photo of this and make it look good." Looking at everything with a new perspective. It's not just the enjoyment of taking the photos but there's also the enjoyment of looking back at them at any time.

Your passion may be something totally different or you haven't even found it but I always encourage people to do things they enjoy and try to pursue it even more. If possible try to even make a career from it or try and make a living with it, get better at it. I always think that people do better and have better outcomes when they are doing something they have a passion for.

Keep searching, get out there and try new things, experiment a little. You never know it might be something that is so close to you but you never really tried. It can be an exhausting search and you'll feel like giving up. Like I did many times and thought i'll just focus on my work I seem to be good at that  but then once you do find something you love you can't wait to keep doing it again and again. Well worth the search!

I found the link below very inspiring and it explains how we can't just think about what we are passionate about but actually doing it.
